Perez Hilton Assaulted By Black Eyed Pea
Mr Hilton usually makes his crust discussing details of other celebrity’s lives via his super popular blog. However, on this particular occasion, Perez found himself at the centre of a media fuelled storm, and his platform of choice to document the whole experience was Twitter.
On June 21st, the celebrity gossip machine tweeted the following statement to his army of 1 million plus followers “assaulted by Will.I.AM of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guard.” Rather than report the incident directly to the police, Perez continued to Tweet about the incident, prompting many of his followers to call the authorities. The fact he had the phone in his hand begs the rather obvious question, why didn’t he call them directly himself? As it transpires, the incident has divided opinion on both sides of the fence, those he feel he was wrongly attacked and those who believe he was rightfully smacked.
The Black Eyed Peas front man was quick to formulate a video response according to his own version of events. Soon after Perez released a counter statement claiming he had multiple witness accounts of the situation. It may now be some time before the full details emanate into the public domain as the matter is rightfully being dealt with by the appropriate authorities. Perhaps Perez thought that it would be better to post his own account of the situation, rather than leaving it to the tabloids and gossip blogs to convey the facts. This demonstrates the appeal of micro blogging to the modern day celebrity, the irony of course being that this story involves the world’s number one celebrity gossip monger.
