
Waracle are embarking on a new project in conjunction with Waste Aware Scotland. Waste Aware Scotland serves to provide you with helpful advice on how and why to reduce, reuse and recycle your household waste. Waste Aware Scotland has a number of ongoing core activities, these include:
They are currently running a number of campaigns aimed at reducing waste. Campaigns include Love Food Hate Waste, Home Composting and Stop the Drop.
They provide the public with information about waste using a range of tools including the Sort It website, a tri-annual magazine and email enquiry facility.
They conduct national surveys to assess current public attitudes towards waste and reduce, reuse and recycle. These surveys form the basis of the Waste Aware campaign strategies.
Campaign resources
They provide local authorities and community groups with a range of resources to help them to run their own Waste Aware campaigns. Resources can be obtained from the Resources and Publications section of the website.
They also host a number of websites that aim to support a range of different sectors to raise waste awareness and increase waste reduction, reuse and recycling. Sites include: Waste Aware Business and Waste Aware Schools.Waracle will specifically be involved with the ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ campaign.
